Quality education at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya with No Cost

              Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are a chain of schools for meritorious students mainly from unprivileged backgrounds. JNVs are completely co-educational and residential schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE), New Delhi. These schools offer education from class VI to XII. JNVs particularly target meritorious students based out of rural areas in India and providing them an education equivalent to the best without any consideration to their families’ socio-economic condition. JNVs are a blessing to the children who wish to excel academically.

Great opportunities at Zero Cost

The cost of education, boarding, and activities at JNV is funded by the Ministry of education, Government of India, and there is no cost for students during the 7 years of their studies and stay at JNV.

Social and cultural life

Located in different regions of India, this school follows a favorable action policy and has a policy for migration from various linguistic regions. Teachers, selected from across the country, live on the same campus and interact with students on 24×7 basic guiding to a familial feeling.

Admission Process

Admission to class VI of the JNV necessaries capability in the JNVST (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test), developed and directed by the CBSE. Every year 80 meritorious students make it to each JNV. It is detected in three stages per year. Students can apply for the entrance exam only once when they are in class V. The test surrounds mental ability, mathematics, and regional language skills. The schools have reserved seats for ST and SC category students (but not OBC). 75% of the selected students are based out of rural areas, a maximum of 25% from urban areas. 33% of the seats are reserved for females and 3% for PWD(Persons with Disability).

Academics at JNV with three languages

JNV offers education from VI-grade to XII grade. JNV generally offers two streams among Science, Arts, and Commerce for class XI and XII. Every JNV student learns three languages in class VI to IX. These languages are united into A-Level, B-I Level, and B-II Level. A Level signifies Hindi, B-I Level means English and B-II Level means Regional language. Therefore, students from these states appear for A-Level and B-I Level language at the CBSE examination.

E-learning

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in collaboration with Samsung India conducts smart classes in 450 JNVs and 7 Navodaya Leadership Institutes from 2013-2019. A smart class is typically empowered with an interactive smart board, laptop/tablets, wi-fi connectivity, and power back up. NCSC (National Children’s Science Congress) also sees colossal participation from Navodyans.

JNVs exist all over India, except Tamil Nadu. As per Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti’s website, there are 636 functional JNVs across the length and breadth of the country. JNVs are governed by 8 different regions.

Selection Test 2021

Every student studying here gets the perk of absolutely free education. The entrance exam for admission to class VI in JNV for the academic new session 2021-22 will be held on Saturday, 16th May 2021 at 11:30 am in only one stage for all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. Selected and eligible candidates will get the golden opportunity to study at JNV. Students apply for the entrance exam in online mode. The selection test will be of two hours duration i.e. 11.30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The test comprises three sections with only objective-type questions. There are a total of 80 questions for 100 marks. Additional fifteen minutes is provided to read the instructions carefully.
